Upcoming Benefit Concert!

February 24th, 2010

Phew! It’s been a few weeks since I was able to update this blog. I am so sorry! It’s been a whirlwind of activity in the Seth Rollins Music world, as well as my own personal life. I am so excited to announce that I have an upcoming benefit concert on FRIDAY MARCH 19TH at TLC Family Church Auditorium. This is my first concert as a solo artist-I am really excited! Especially because of the “why”.  A portion of the proceeds are going to the “Speak A Word Foundation” which is the foundation I started with my wife Stephanie.

As most people know due to the exposure from American Idol, my oldest son Samuel has been diagnosed with autism. He is very high-functioning and may even lose the label someday. We credit so much of his recovery to the early identification of his developmental delay which enabled us to work with his speech and language from 20 months old.

The foundation we started is called the “Speak A Word Foundation”. Its mission is to help provide resources to preschools to aid in early detection of developmental delays.

I am also excited to tell you that my FIRST SINGLE will be released that night as well! The song is called “Speak A Word” and is a powerful and inspiring song, encouraging us to keep hope and speak words of encouragement into every situation we are faced with.

If you are planning to attend the concert, I am putting up an invitation on Facebook in the next week or so. Please call 863.668.8787 or RSVP to the invite. No need to do both. We are also looking into doing a live video stream for those who are unable to make it.

Thank you all for your encouragement and continued interest in my family and my music. I can’t wait to see what else God has for us!

I got cut :(

February 11th, 2010

First, I would like to thank all of my new “fans” (that still feels weird to say). The amount of support I have received has been overwhelming. It feels good to know that so many people are rooting for your success. I would like also to thank everyone that works for American Idol. I can honestly say that EVERYONE that works for the program was nice, supportive, and really good people. From the executive producers all the way to the production assistants. I wasn’t sure how they would be when we got to Hollywood, but I could not have asked for a more pleasant experience ( except getting cut, of course :) . The contestants were just as nice. It seemed like everyone was pulling for everyone else to do good. Before I left for Hollywood, we prayed that whatever God wanted me to experience through this would be experienced, and that He would open and close doors as He saw fit. Though I was obviously upset when I was eliminated, I have to acknowledge that it is ALL part of His plan. I was there for a reason, and I am no longer there for a reason. If for nothing else, knowing that out of over 100,000 people I was one of 175 that made it to Hollywood was a huge boost to my confidence as well as the exposure given to families like ours that are affected by autism.

Last but not least, I would like to thank my wife, my two children and all of my family and friends for being so supportive.

I am currently working on my first single, which should be available by the middle of March as well as an album. We are revamping my website sethrollinsmusic.com, and you can always check me out on my facebook fan page which I will be updating regularly. God isn’t through with me YET!
